本人集得铜质圣宋元宝大钱一枚(如图),该钱做工绝好,字廓深峻,规整,穿孔干净,底张光洁,通身黑锈,背穿上有一仰月,铜质粉红。查阅各钱谱《古钱大辞典》中录有一品,与此钱相同,《简明钱币辞典》中也有一品,因为品相差—些,看起来似乎小一些。这种圣宋元宝钱文属隶书,后来也有几种钱文采用这种书法。北宋时期铁钱的使用有一定区域性,当时陕西、四川以及南方部份地区行用铁钱,为了限制铁钱的使用区域,铁钱钱文不同于铜钱钱文,圣宋元宝此种钱文是属铁钱。相应的铁钱上述两部泉谱中都有,只是缺少数据,难于比较。《中国钱币》89年第二期《陕西发现的一些北宋铁钱》一文录有一枚圣宋元宝铁钱,并附有数据;钱径32,厚2,穿径8毫米,重12克,我所得这枚铜钱:钱径38,厚2.6,穿径7.1毫米,重11克。此钱略大旦厚于铁钱,除此之外与铁钱极相同,应属铁母,这种钱当时流通于陕西一带。
