1971年发掘的唐乾陵章怀太子墓,墓内绘制有精美的壁画~([1])。在墓道东壁有一幅长达8.9米的《狩猎出行图》,图中前方三位开路卫士,有两位分别手持一圆首棍状器具,最后面亦有两位卫士手持相同的器具。在前甬道东壁《内侍侍女图》中,最前面的男侍,亦手持此器具。同一时期发现的另一座乾陵陪葬墓懿德太子墓~([2]),墓内壁画也十分精美,在第一过洞东壁的《驯豹图》中,四位驯豹者有三位或手举或腰插这种圆首棍状器具,其形状与颜色均与章怀太子墓者相同。那么,这种器具名何?作何用途?它的
