美国《科学》发表的研究认为,一种基于多轮免疫接种策略的试验性疫苗,也许有潜力遏制艾滋病病毒感染。传统疫苗的工作思路是,利用灭活版本的病毒来刺激人体产生抗体。然而,采用“天然”艾滋病病毒蛋白开发的疫苗却无法引发有效的免疫反应,这是由于艾滋病病毒能逃避免疫系统的检测,并快速变异为新的病毒株。上述两项研究认为,一种成功的艾滋病疫苗需要包括一系列相关但又略有区别的免疫原,经多轮免疫接种才能激发人体产生抗艾滋病病毒
A study published in the U.S. “Science” suggests that a pilot vaccine based on multiple rounds of immunization strategies may have the potential to contain HIV infection. The idea of a traditional vaccine is to use the inactivated version of the virus to stimulate the body to produce antibodies. However, vaccines developed with “natural” HIV proteins fail to elicit an effective immune response because HIV can evade the detection of the immune system and rapidly mutate into new strains. The above two studies suggest that a successful AIDS vaccine needs to include a series of related but slightly different immunogens that can stimulate the body to produce anti-HIV after multiple rounds of immunization
