红萍是富钾能力很高的绿肥作物,但作为柑桔基肥研究者不多。1984年湖南省新宁县土肥站,在同样栽培管理基础上,每株柑桔施用细录萍(鲜萍)40斤,平均每株结果110斤,比株施猪牛粪40斤的增产11.2斤,比不增施肥料的,增产17斤,柑桔果实含糖量也比施猪牛粪的提高0.87%,比不增施肥料的提高1.2%。从资料微机检索来看,国内采用示踪法研究红萍钾在柑桔的吸收和体内运转的情况,至今尚未见有公开发表的文章。作者拟定通过示踪法,探索在红萍两次高峰期(4~5月、9~11月),作为柑桔生产用肥,探索柑桔对红萍钾的吸收和运转分配情况,以及对柑桔产量和品质的影响,以求用红萍来顶替部分柑桔肥料,达到既节省肥
