The authors used anti-idiotypic antibodies as an intrinsic alternative to the conserved epitopes on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to stimulate the body’s immune system and to observe its protective effect against lethal challenge in mice. The authors prepared the Armenian hamster anti-idiotypic monoclonal antibody MAb4G2, which is capable of binding to the inner core of a mouse that is conserved in LPS containing 2-keto-3-deoxyoctanoic acid (KDO)
