<正> The book Research on the Origin of Jades:A Study and Album of XinglongwaCulture Jades jointly compiled and published by the Institute of Archaeology,CASS,and the Center forChinese Archaeology and Art,the Chinese University of Hong Kong,describes all the jades round 8000BP unearthed from the Xinglongwa site and expounds comprehensively the results of their studies.Itmakes a multi-angle discussion on related problems,such as the origin and diffusion,the use and usingmanner and the making technology of jade jue penannular rings round 8000 BP,which makes up a seriesof academic research gaps concerned with the inceptive stage of jades in China and even in whole EasternAsia,and initiates a new approach to research on the jades of remote antiquity by means of archaeologicalmicro-user analysis and modern scientific and technical photography with high-power digital cameras.
