一多事的近东从十字军时代起,近东就和欧洲发生了不可分离的关系。在一九一四年前,近东是欧洲帝国主义斗争的主要场所;所谓「东方问题」,实际上就是欧洲列强争夺近东霸权的问题。一九一四年,当欧洲大战爆发的时候,近东也随着欧洲大陆,被卷进战争的漩涡中。战后的近东,仍没完全跳出帝国主义斗争的漩涡;现在因为帝国主义重分世界的斗争日趋激烈,近东的情势,更觉严重了。
A Multi-event Near East Since the Crusades, the Near East has had an inseparable relationship with Europe. Before 1914, the Near East was the main venue for the struggle for European imperialism. The so-called “question of the East” was in fact the issue of the European powers’ struggle for the supremacy of the Near East. In 1914, when the European war broke out, the Near East was also involved in the whirlpool of war along with the European continent. The post-war Near East has not yet completely out of the whirlpool of the imperialist struggle. Now that the struggle for the re-division of the world by imperialism has become increasingly fierce, the situation in the Near East is even more grave.
