1927年7月,大革命失败。中共中央为了应对危局,决定在武汉召开紧急会议。八七会议上,瞿秋白在报告中提出今后大力开展土地革命的方针。毛泽东在发言中批评了陈独秀的右倾错误,明确提出“须知政权是由枪杆子中取得的”论断,强调实行土地革命。随后,毛泽东奔赴湖南,开始了贯彻八七会议精神、领导武装起义、开展土地革命的征程。
July 1927, the Great Revolution failed. In response to the crisis, the CPC Central Committee decided to hold an emergency meeting in Wuhan. At the August 7 meeting, Qu Qiubai put forward his policy of vigorously carrying out the agrarian revolution in the report. In his speech, Mao Zedong criticized Chen Duxiu’s rightist mistakes and clearly put forward the conclusion that “political power must be obtained from the barrel of a gun,” emphasizing the implementation of the agrarian revolution. Subsequently, Mao Zedong went to Hunan and began the implementation of the spirit of the August 7 Syngement, leading the armed uprising and carrying out the agrarian revolution.
