Austro-Georoga (1878-1937), an outstanding short story writer in Uruguay and Latin America, has lived in the Misiones forest area in northern Argentina for many years. Much of his work is based on the region, deeply portraying the hard life of forestry workers, the dreadful environment in which they live, and their tragic experiences.
