Saponin and tannin have some similar physicochemical properties and are not easy to separate accurately [1]. They not only affect each other’s pharmacological effects, but also make the preparations degenerate and turbid and difficult to preserve, which seriously restricts their development and utilization [2,3]. By analyzing the UV spectra of the components in the chromatographic separation process, we can confirm that the saponins and tannins in the infusion were completely separated under the chromatographic conditions.
