从本世纪80年代末产生的历史教育学,与历史教学法相比,不仅是名称的改变,而在于学科内涵的拓展,是教育科学属下的历史教育理论形态。它以历史教育为特定的研究对象,综合历史学科和教育学科的理论,来自教育实践并直接指导教育实践。建构和发展这一理论体系,需运用哲学、教育科学、历史学以及系统论等多种研究方法。哲学方法是基础,教育学原理为核心,着重展现历史教育自身的特殊规律。历史教育学一般包括四方面内容:(1)研究“为什么教和学”;(2)研究教和学什么”;(3)研究“怎样教和学”;(4)研究“由什么人教”。作为师范院校的一门课程,师范院校的历史系科,可开设一门《历史教育学概论》必修课程,同时有选择地开设几门选修课,如“历史教材研究”、“历史教育心理学”、“历史课堂教学艺术”、历史教育测量与评估”等。

History pedagogy generally includes four aspects: (1) to study “why teaching and learning”; (2) what to study and learn; “(3) to study” how to teach and learn “; (4) to study” As a course of normal colleges and universities, the department of history of normal universities and colleges can set up a compulsory course of “Introduction to History of Pedagogy”, and at the same time, it selectively opens several elective courses such as “Historical Textbook Research”, “ History education psychology ”,“ history classroom teaching art ”, measurement and evaluation of history education" and so on.
