池杉又名池柏,生长快、干形直、材质好、树形美,既是良好的用材树种,又是优良的观赏树种,是湖北重要的绿化树种。通山县从80年代初开始池杉育苗,采用低温浸种催芽法,获得了很好的效果。 低温浸种催芽的作法是:在12月下旬开始用冷水浸种,每天翻动一次种子,5～7天换一次水;60天后捞起种子,拌上湿润河沙,用白色塑料薄膜包好,置于阳光下,既能保湿,又可增温,利用昼夜温差进行催芽;待种子破胸时,即可播种。
