Steel fiber-reinforced concrete is a new type of building material. It has been researched abroad since 1963. In the 1970s, it gradually became a highway pavement, an airstrip, a floating trestle bridge deck, a floating container, a breakwater artificial shaped block, a tunnel lining, and a channel. The trials on the protection of surface protection, dam overflow surface repair, prefabricated flat slabs, concrete pipes, etc. have achieved good results and have witnessed rapid development in recent years. Steel fiber-reinforced concrete evenly distributes scattered short steel wires in a mortar or concrete matrix. The reinforced composite material has excellent crack resistance, impact resistance, shock resistance, explosion resistance, fatigue resistance, resistance to freeze-thaw cycles and drastic changes in temperature; it can still remain intact under severe damage; and it is suitable for mechanized construction.
