Objective To understand the status of HIV infection among couples living with HIV / AIDS in Taishan City, and to provide a scientific basis for the development of effective interventions. Methods From HIV / AIDS prevention and control information management system, we selected out-of-surviving and follow-up information from 2012 to 2012 in Taishan City. HIV / AIDS cases with spouse and spouse as negative or positive data were established and analyzed. Results A total of 164 pairs of HIV double positive or single positive spouse, HIV double positive rate was 61.59% (101/164), HIV single positive rate of 38.41% (63/164). The positive rate of male HIV infection was 58.11%, higher than that of the female counterpart (41.89%), the difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 13.95, P <0.01), and the highest number was 49.06% (130/265) in the age group of 30-39 years. Transmission routes for the injection of drugs accounted for 80.49% (132/164). Of the spouses, 64.63% (106/164) were male ones, of which 52.83% were for prisons, while 47.73% of spouses who were first detected by the spouse were detected for maternity leave. Double positive spouse, 44.55% of couples test positive interval within 3 months. Single Yang family receiving antiretroviral therapy than Shuangyang family, the difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 38.88, P <0.01). Conclusion There is a high HIV transmission rate among spouses in Taishan City. To monitor the early detection of HIV infection and to increase intervention efforts among people in the age group of 30-39 years is the key task of blocking sexual transmission within the family.
