Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of C-erbB-2 and VEGF in colorectal cancer. Methods The expression of C-erbB-2 and VEGF in 169 cases of colorectal cancer were detected by immunohistochemistry Envision two-step method. Results The positive rate of C-erbB-2 in colorectal cancer was 37.87%. The expression of C-erbB-2 was correlated with tumor size and intravascular thrombus, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The positive rate of VEGF in colorectal cancer was 59.76 %, Which was significantly correlated with tumor size, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and intravascular thrombosis (P <0.05). Spearman correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between them in colorectal cancer (r = 0.342). Conclusion The overexpression of C-erbB-2 and VEGF correlates with the biological behavior of colorectal cancer, which may be used as an effective indicator for prognosis.
