Recently, I talked to a very high-profile person from the investment community. Their fund decided to “reverse the trend” to examine the media industry and screen for investment. I asked the reason, the answer is very simple: people have a pair of eyes and a pair of ears, is born need to see things, listen to things. The media is to provide these, does not matter disappear does not die. This view can be described as a counterattack to those who look bad media. But this contrarian move is not like Buffett bought some traditional local newspapers directly. Rather, it uses the concept of industrial upgrading to read the media again and find new business opportunities in it.
