本刊2009年12A刊登的《清末水师‘黄河’号战船老照片解读》(以下简称“陈文”)引起远在厦门的许路先生的关注,并电话告知“黄河”号的踪迹在美国20世纪还有报道。其在2010年2月提交了《清末‘黄河’号帆船的太平洋之旅》(以下简称“许文”),本刊在此予以全文刊载,以期海内外学者对中国传统帆船有更深入的研究。陈文对“黄河”号的时代背景、船型、外形、尺寸、结构、武备、官舱布局等都有解读分析,许文主要补充了该船从中国跨洋出航的外国经历与结局,还引用了19-20世纪西方人士编写专著中有关舟船插图及当时美国报纸照片作为“黄河”号清末战船的同型船参考,使其图像资料更加丰富。从许文中补充说明船体各部位结构所用木料出自福建和东南亚,而原船辗转出售于香港,又从长江口偷越出境离开中国来分析,此船可能系建造与航行于华南。至于两文对“黄河”号的船型是福船还是广船有不同见解,可留待深入挖掘史料后再判定。
