From January 1989 to December 1991, 13 units nationwide collaborated to study the application of 20 behavioral neurological tests (NBNA) in neonates to full-term asphyxia. One hundred and fifty-five patients were followed up to 125 patients aged 1-2 years. The results showed that: 7 days NBNA <35 points in 44 cases, 44.4% poor prognosis; 12 to 14 days NBNA <35 points in 14 cases, 78.6% of the poor prognosis, and> 35 points were normal to 98.3%. The sensitivity and specificity of 7-day NBNA score predictive prognosis were 88, 9% and 82.6% respectively, 84.6% and 97.4% on days 12-14. Its prognostic value is superior to Sarnat’s indexing, cranial CT and B-ultrasound. The method is practical, economical, reliable and worth promoting.
