Russia is one of the main external factors that can influence China's period of strategic opportunity and its rise.One of China's long-lasting strategic goals is to develop China-Russia ties based on "equality and trust,mutual support,common prosperity and friendship for generations".1 The first overseas visit Chinese President Xi Jinping made after he took office was to Russia-signifying that country's unique role in China's foreign strategy and demonstrating the significance of China and Russia making a joint effort to build a new type of big power relations.Although Sino-Russian ties have reached "an unprecedented level",there are still issues that thwart their bilateral relations.Common interests,the scale and standard of economic cooperation are not as advanced as their strategic political relations.
