“扶贫先扶智、教育是基础”——这是贞丰的决策者们长期以来形成的共识.贞丰县委、县政府历来都把教育工作放在工作的重中之重,但因地方财力所困,所有的努力也只能在保不拖欠教师工资的前提下,对原有校舍进行修修补补,根本无力从根本上改变贞丰教育落后的状况.1998年开始启动的“国家贫困地区义务教育工程”是建国以来国家对贫困地区教育基础设施的最大投入,贞丰被列为工程实施项目县之一,工程实施期内拟建25所学校,总投资1609万元.
