文学艺术,本是反映人类文明发展的记录。可是近半个世纪以来,人们对文学艺术的作用夸张到了无以复加的高度,以致最后形成“枪杆子,笔杆子,夺取政权靠这两杆子”之说,成为夺取政权的工具。于是文学艺术被喻为“阶级斗争的风向标”,文艺领域变成了“阶级斗争的风口浪尖”。社会上不断起伏的风暴,文艺界不仅首当其冲,而且往往是导火线。在文艺界内部,更是动辄小集团,今天我用“马列主义”整你,明天他用“马列主义”整我,反正整人的总是口含天宪,被整的人绝无分辩余地。近来偶重读姚文元的《评海瑞罢官》、《评陶铸的两本书》等文章,觉得满纸呓语,全是走狗仗势欺人的恶赖,可当时却是作为文件学习的,简直是梦寐。但只要稍回顾历史,就可知这风气并非突如其来,所谓“冰冻三尺,非一日之寒”。
