The American Hospital Accreditation Manual is divided into 24 specific standards. It first introduces the hospital organization and hospital comprehensive issues, followed by the specific standards of each department. The organization of hospitals in the U.S. general hospital organization is fundamentally different from that in Japan. It is divided into two parts: the management department and the physician group under the council. The council is composed of authoritative people in the region and academics. The highest decision-making body, the management department usually includes the entire medical department including the nursing department.
