长江是横贯我国东西的内河航运黄金水道,它的运输能力相当于10条铁路,在国民经济中起着举足轻重的作用。三峡工程建成后,一座180多米高的混凝土大坝将横跨江上,如何解决好船只过坝、保证航运畅通是三峡工程建设的重大技术问题。经过我国科技人员长期试验研究和反复论证,三峡工程建设的决策者们决定采用目前的永久船闸和大型垂直升船机方案。永久船闸要在2003年三峡水库蓄水发电时投入运行,升船机暂缓至2009年建成。
The Yangtze River is an inland waterway golden waterway running through our country. Its transport capacity is equivalent to 10 railways and plays a decisive role in the national economy. After the completion of the Three Gorges Project, a concrete dam over 180 meters high will cross the river. How to solve the problem of vessels crossing the dam and ensuring the smooth flow of shipping is a major technical issue in the construction of the Three Gorges Project. After long-term experimental studies and repeated demonstrations by our scientists and technicians, decision-makers of the Three Gorges Project decided to adopt the current permanent ship lock and large-scale vertical ship lift programs. The permanent lock will be put into operation when the Three Gorges Reservoir is charged and hydropower generation in 2003, and the lift will be suspended until 2009.
