科技期刊的水平高低关键在于稿件的质量,而收稿、审稿、组稿、编辑又是影响稿件质量的主要流程。但是传统的组稿与审稿模式一般耗时较长,有时好的选题,却因组稿、审稿耽误时间较长而使时效性降低。目前,科技期刊进入网络系统,将面临前所未有的激烈市场竞争。科技期刊也从“印刷传播型”向“电子传播型”发展。因此,利用目前迅猛发展的信息技术,科技期刊可以充分利用因特网的时效性强、交互性强、便于快速查询的特点,改变传统的组稿与审稿模式,着力使编辑办公自动化,以便更好地适应社会对期刊出版工作的要求。
