作为老年大学,学习贯彻党的十八大精神,无疑需把落脚点放到开创老年教育的新局面上。而要开创老年教育的新局面,重点、难点在哪里?作者联系多年从事老年教育的实践,认为开创老年教育新局面的当务之急,在于因地制宜地去加快发展,把老年大学的大门敞开、敞开、再敞开。这是坚持老年人主体地位、维护社会主义公平正义的必然要求。开创老年教育新局面,要正确处理三个关系,即点与面的关系;提高与普及的关系;“进得来”与“留得住”的关系,汇聚开创老年教育新局面的正能量。
