Background It is unclear whether the correlation between low birth weight and adult insulin resistance is due to utero or later life based on predisposing factors and exogenous factors. Methods and Results: 1295 pairs of mother and child total glycated hemoglobin (TGH) were measured at delivery as an indicator of maternal and fetal glycemia.
