在中华人民共和国的版图上,如果把“九五”期间建成的京九铁路看作是纵贯南北的雄健的一竖,那么,“十五”期间,在陇海线的西端连上一笔长1118公里的青藏铁路,直达“太阳城”拉萨,就是更加大气磅礴的一横。这贯通中国全境的一横一竖组成一个世界铁路网上最大的“十字”,这将为中国的经济发展铸成一座怎样的丰碑!从此,中国拥有了世界上海拔最高和最长的高原铁路;中国的西部、中部和东部将连为一体!中国西北地区丰富的煤炭、石油资源通过经济、便捷的通道运上青藏高原,对调整青海、西藏的能源结构保护高原生态环境具有深远意义。
In the territory of the People’s Republic of China, if we regard the Beijing-Kowloon Railway built during the Ninth Five-Year Plan as a vigorous erection running north and south, during the “Tenth Five-Year Plan” period, at the western end of the Longhai Line, 1118 km long Qinghai-Tibet Railway, direct access to “Sun City” Lhasa, is more magnificent a horizontal. It is a crossroads that runs through all of China and forms the largest “cross” on the world railway network. What kind of monument will this cast into China’s economic development? Since then, China has the highest and longest plateau railway in the world; the western, central and eastern China will become one! The abundant coal and petroleum resources in northwestern China are transported to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau through economic and convenient channels, which has profound significance for adjusting the energy structure in Qinghai and Tibet to protect the plateau ecological environment.
