The graphite fluoride was synthesized by the reaction of graphite with the fluorine gas produced by electrolysis of molten salt K F · 2 H F to obtain fluorinated graphite. The structure of fluorinated graphite was determined by X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy. The effects of reaction temperature on the structure and composition of fluorinated graphite influences.
