On March 15, this year, the People’s Daily published on the front page a communique issued by the State Economic and Trade Commission on the quality inspection of industrial products in the fourth quarter of 1987. The quality of Hailong brand cylinders produced by Jiangsu Taixian Water Machinery Factory ranked first. Taixian Water Conservancy Machinery Factory was a small factory started from several reed sheds and several old lathes left by the county-level Huai Engineering Group in August 1977. After the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Party Central Committee, this factory took economic construction as the center and reform as the driving force to invigorate the economy.
