风暴潮是沿海地区的一种巨大的自然灾害.它是指由于强风和气压巨变所导致的海面异常显著的升降现象.也有人称之为风暴海啸或气象海啸.它是发生在海洋中的一种重力长波,其周期为103～105分钟,或1～102小时,介乎低频的天文潮和地震海啸之间.通常从实测的水位曲线中减去预报的天文潮位作为提取风暴潮的一个主要方法.这样得到的风暴潮位,称为"表观风暴潮".按照诱发风暴潮的气象扰动的特征分类,可以把出现在我国北方沿海地区的风暴潮分为三大类,即由热带风暴(台风、飓风)所引起,由温带气旋引起和由寒潮或强
