日本的中国电力公司声称,它与藤仓电线公司共同在日本率先研制成内藏外伤探测光纤的海底光缆,在从(罔山县)玉野变电站到香川县小豆岛的输电中,将首次使用这种光缆。开发的海底光缆内藏三根容纳66000V用、探测用、通信用光纤外径27mm的光纤组件。当系统受到外部侧压力时,光纤组件也将受到侧压力,只要探测光纤的传输损耗增加,便知道光纤受损。
Japan’s China Power Company claims that it is the first company in Japan to jointly develop a submarine cable with a built-in trauma detection fiber in cooperation with Fujikura Electric Wire Co., Ltd.
