1996年10月,在位于青州市博物馆南侧约50米处,出土一大型佛教造像窑藏,出土的造像多达400余尊。其雕琢之精美,彩绘保存之完好,鎏金之亮丽,实属国内外所罕见。我们在清理修复展览研究的同时,发现这批造像其菩萨身上的装饰,即所谓的璎珞,雕琢最为精美,堪称一绝。并且可以在众多佩有璎珞的造像中,能够梳理出一条由小到大,由简到繁的发展轨迹来。通过这一轨迹的发展变化,可以确定造像的早晚年
In October 1996, about 500 meters south of Qingzhou Museum, a large Buddhist statuary kiln was excavated with as many as 400 statues unearthed.
