One mathematician said: “Many controversies in mathematics are not arguments about the authenticity of things, but often they are about whether some kind of mathematics proves that the process can be further simplified or whether the proved proposition has a Very important meaning, or whether the proposition is the argument of some other special case of the universal truth that is more easily discoverable. ” In fact, there are quite a few controversies concerning the absence of negative numbers, irrational numbers, and imaginary numbers in the history of mathematics. This is one of the most controversial major issues emanating from the eighteenth century.
