Broadband Radar Considerations The attraction of multi-target processing in conjunction with the performance of some high-resolution radars such as target identification, clutter suppression and ECCM enhancements has driven the design of broadband phased array radars. The total mass factor of a wideband radar is the available range sidelobe (RSL) suppression. Sidelobe suppression determines the effective dynamic range available in wideband target recognition and can greatly affect clutter suppression performance. Other quality factors, such as signal-to-noise ratio (S / N) processing loss and effective bandwidth, are equally important.
