In recent years, as the process of industrialization of human society and population pressure continue to increase, the supply of resources around the world has become increasingly tense. International conflicts in the 21st century will increasingly bring a backdrop of resource competition. In addition to the traditional competition for petroleum resources and fishery resources, the competition for water resources will also increase. The reason is obvious, and the freshwater resources in many countries have become increasingly scarce. There is no doubt that lack of water is a life-or-death threat to any one country because water is the most basic condition for human existence. To this end, our correspondent interviewed Mr. Li Shaojun of the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and consulted with him on the relevant issues.
