1938年4月27日,担任武汉卫戌司令部电台台长的吴淑聪收到了发自沪宁沦陷区敌后电台的重要情报:日军从台湾调至南京的木更津航空队,将在29日大规模轰炸武汉。木更津航空队在台湾受过严格训练,曾在半年多前轰炸南京,炸毁无数房屋。此次中国方面决定对其予以痛击,从4月27日到28日夜,共调集了两个大队和一个国际支援中队的战斗机。武汉周边机场的战斗机数量猛增至60余架。
On April 27, 1938, Wu Shuxong, a radio station chief of the Wuhan Wei Xu Command, received important information from the radio station behind the enemy-occupied areas in Shanghai-Nanjing that the Japanese troops transferred from Taiwan to Nanjing will be massacred on the 29th Wuhan. Kisarazu Aviation Team was rigorously trained in Taiwan, bombing Nanjing in more than six months and blowing up innumerable houses. The Chinese side decided to give it a blow. From April 27 to 28, a total of two fighters and one international support squadron fighter were mobilized. The number of fighters around the airport in Wuhan surged to more than 60 aircraft.
