The FAA has issued a public announcement in favor of the introduction of the “free-flight” air navigation by phases, based on recommendations made by the Radio Technical Committee for reports by the aviation working group. Monte Berger, joint FAA official in charge of air traffic services, said that aviation authorities will formally respond to the 40 specialized recommendations of the report by the end of January 19961. The main idea is to create a dedicated network in the U.S. airspace. Berger said: “In general, we agree with this proposal, and our responsibility is to provide an ATC system to allow people to fly anytime they want to fly, which is the concept of free flight.” "
