In 1926, Yang Hucheng led more than 10,000 troops in Shaanxi and persecuted for eight months in the isolated city of Xi’an to fight the siege of about 100,000 troops from the Songshan army in the town of Liu Zhenhua, a unit of the Northern Warlords, and defend the bases of the revolution in the Northwest of the National Army. This is a marvelous scene for the people of the Northwest in the Northern Expedition. It is a great contribution made by Yang Hucheng and Shaanxi military to the national revolution.
