From January to December 1998, the speed of textile industry-wide industrial production fell slightly, and the speed of the textile industry in the system showed a negative growth. Textile industry-wide industrial production and operation: From January to December 1998, the gross industrial output value of the textile industry (invariable price) totaled 693.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.50%. In December, the industrial output value of the textile industry (invariable price) was 64.916 billion yuan, an increase of 2.66% from the previous month, and the textile industry’s production rate was lower than the national industrial production rate of 11.20 percentage points.
