对于耶鲁大学来讲,看起来似乎并不需要额外的新艺术空间,因为耶鲁大学美术馆已经包括两个知名的艺术中心:一个是耶鲁大学英国艺术中心,另外一个是在保罗·鲁道夫礼堂的建筑美术馆。不过位于艾芝伍德大街的耶鲁大学美术馆目前则面临与其姐妹机构竞争的可能,由于其临近的一所新的建筑将专门投入用于耶鲁大学艺术学院的雕塑项目,提供了更加宜于雕塑创作的光线和空间。面对这样的情况,耶鲁大学美术馆选择了补充完善其美术馆的建设,而不是与其姐妹机构形成竞争之势。
For Yale, it looks like it does not require extra art space because the Yale Art Gallery already includes two well-known art centers: one at Yale’s British Arts Center and the other at Paul Rudolph’s Auditorium Architecture Museum. However, the Yale University Art Gallery at Archerwood Avenue is currently facing the possibility of competing with its sister agencies as a new nearby building will dedicate itself to sculptures used at the Yale School of the Arts to provide a more suitable sculpture Light and space. Faced with such a situation, Yale Art Museum chose to supplement and improve the construction of its museum, rather than forming a competitive trend with their sister agencies.
