Objective To explore the impact of community nursing intervention on patients with hypertension self-management ability. Methods Two 180 patients with hypertension were selected as the research object and randomly divided into two groups, 90 cases each. Patients in the control group were given only regular discharge guidance. Patients in the experimental group were given community nursing interventions in addition to giving regular discharge guidance. After 12 months, the cognitive ability, knowledge of blood pressure control and self-management of hypertension in two groups were compared. Results The patients in the experimental group were significantly better than the control group in terms of diet, compliance with medication, self-monitoring rate of exercise and blood pressure monitoring (90.0%, 93.3%, 76.7%, 96.7% respectively), and the difference was statistically significant (P0.05) . Conclusions Community nursing intervention in hypertensive patients can effectively improve patients’ self-management ability and improve their cognitive abilities of hypertension knowledge, so as to effectively control blood pressure and improve quality of life of patients.
