This article examines the effects of various engine parameters such as injection performance and combustion chamber geometry on small direct injection diesel engine performance and exhaust emissions to determine the best way to improve the diesel engine. The injection of diesel injected into a high pressure vessel was analyzed using photography to infer the performance of the injection in a burning diesel engine. The orifice aspect ratio L / D changes from 3 to 7. Piston top pit diameter and intake vortex were chosen as other parameters. The effects of the above parameters on fuel economy, exhaust smoke, NO x and total hydrocarbon THC emissions were studied. Determine the nozzle L / D is an important parameter affecting fuel economy and THC emissions. When the piston pit diameter is small, the exhaust smoke is lower, but NO_x is higher. In order to obtain the minimum fuel consumption rate, the correlation between the penetration distance of the injection tip and the optimum diameter of the piston crown pit was investigated. Statistical analysis can help explain the effects of various engine parameters on performance and exhaust emissions.
