历史比较语言学是语言学历史上第一个科学流派,它的产生与大量语言材料的积累是分不开的,这些材料有许多来自于历史文献,而要探究语言的历史更是离不开反映古代语言面貌的历史文献。因此,考证历史文献是历史比较语言学研究的重要途径之一,也产生了许多重大的成果,但是历史文献本身也存在一些局限性,我们要正确看待历史文献在历史比较语言学研究过程中的地位。
Historical comparative linguistics is the first school of science in the history of linguistics. Its production is inseparable from the accumulation of a large number of language materials.
