很少有经理人对数据模型有兴趣,许多数据分析工具看上去只是为数据专家而设,而不是为一线的员工服务,这是一个致命伤。通过与来自六大数据密集型行业中的数十家企业的合作,我们发现,企业要想充分利用大数据,需要三种相互辅助的能力:第一,能够鉴别、结合及管理多种数据源。第二,为了预测和优化成果,要有构建高级分析模型的能力。第三,也是最为关键的,为了确保数据和模型能够真正生成更好的决策,管理层必须具备推动体制转变的能力。
Few managers are interested in the data model. Many data analysis tools appear to be for data professionals rather than front-line employees. It is a mortal blow. Working with dozens of companies from six data-intensive industries, we found that companies need three competencies to take full advantage of big data: First, the ability to identify, combine and manage multiple data sources . Second, in order to predict and optimize outcomes, there is a need to build advanced analytic models. Third, and most crucially, to ensure that data and models truly generate better decisions, management must be able to drive institutional change.
