张大千与吴湖帆相识于三十年代初,断断续续交往了二十年。我曾以采访大风堂早期门人刘力上为主线,参阅了有关张、吴交往的记载,撰写了《张大千与吴湖帆》一文(收入拙著《张大千艺术圈》)。这篇文章,侧重写了张、吴相轻相斥到相敬相亲的交往过程,其中还记述了刘力上所亲见亲闻——张大千伪造梁楷《睡猿图》,诱骗吴湖帆重金购藏一事。事过十多年,我一直在寻找吴湖帆生前对购藏《睡猿图》后的反映以及他对张大千的真实看法,以便印证记述拙作的失误。皇天不负有心人,二○○四年开春,收到梁颖先生寄赠的《吴湖帆文稿》(简称“文稿”),梁颖是“文稿”的编校。据他在后记中说,这部“文稿”是他受吴元京先生(吴湖帆
