China Dyestuffs Industry Association (CDIA) recently issued a report that recovery signals arose for China’s dyestuffs industry. The industry achieved combined sales revenue of RMB35.65 billion in 2009, a drop of 6.8% year on year. The total output of dyestuffs was 719 000 tons, a growth of 6%. (The National Bureau of Statistics reported that the total output of dyestuffs was 1.424 million tons in 2009.) Of that, the output of disperse dyes amounted to 348 000 tons, that of reactive dyes was 196 000 tons, sulfur dyes being 97 000 tons and other dyes 78 000 tons. The total output of organic pigments was 182 000 tons, down 1.6%.
