From our analysis of students in eight different grades, we find that in open design, prototyping can help students better integrate their assessment ideas, better present their ideas and help students to better discover Differences between real behavior and conceptual prototypes. Prototyping also enhances innovative ideas to help students recognize their metacomprehensive design strategies, and we also find that most students construct the same schedule regardless of whether they started composition or construction.
