Marginalized statistics and statistics On October 8 this year, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced that both U.S. economist Robert F. Engle and British economist Clive WJ Granger Won the 2003 Nobel Prize in economics. The main findings of these two economists are the use of statistical analysis to deal with two key properties of economic time series: time-varying volatility and nonstationarity. This is the second breakthrough made in econometric research within four years since the two econometricians won this award in 2000. Throughout the history of the Nobel Prize in economics, econometricians accounted for almost half of the award-winning economists, we can see that this branch of economics in academic studies in economics
