OBJECTIVE: To study the effects of the vagal activation on the cardiac inflammatory response induced by endotoxin (LPS) in rats. Methods: The bilateral vagus nerve trunk of the rats were sacrificed or sham operation control was performed. The distal left vagal trunk was connected to the stimulation electrode, and the LPS (10mg · Kg -1) 5V, 2ms, 1Hz) 20min, repeated after 20min intervals, each time 20min, costimulation 3 times. The levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), myeloperoxidase (MPO) and serum creatine kinase CK (CK-MB) in the myocardial tissue of the experimental and control groups were detected at 1h, Level. Results: The levels of TNF-α, MPO and CK-MB in myocardium of vagus nerve stimulation group were significantly decreased, and the pathological inflammatory changes were alleviated. Conclusion: The excitement of the vagus nerve can significantly inhibit the LPS-induced cardiac tissue inflammatory mediators, can significantly reduce the myocardial tissue damage, and have a potential protective effect on cardiac function.
