Three years ago, the Sandia National Laboratories in the United States signed a Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the US Department of Energy’s Multiprogram Lab and General Motors Division at Delphi Saginaw. As a result of the agreement, three years later, a closed-loop Control system that monitors changes in the quality of parts during machining and solves the problem of induction heat treatment in the automotive industry. The use of induction heat treatment dates back to World War II when it was used to reinforce steel and cast iron parts and electromagnets The coil is heated and cooled with water, but the problem is that quality control over the depth and surface hardness of steel and cast iron parts can not be sustained
